Beth Rickerby

Grace Elizabeth Jane Rickerby  (née Ariss) passed away July 4, 2017 at Owen Sound Regional Hospital. Beth is survived by her brother Paul Ariss and sister-in-law Annie Ariss of Arthur, Ontario; sister-in-law Phyllis Ariss of Oakville, Ontario; sister-in-law Pat Beach of Tecumseh, Ontario and brother-in-law Don Rickerby of Windsor, Ontario. Her beloved children are: Elizabeth, her husband Jerald Alexander; Martha, her ex-husband Ted Clark; John and his wife Melanie Myers. Always cherished grandchildren are: Grace, Thomas, Madeleine, Ben, Grey and William.  Beth moved to Port Elgin from Windsor, Ontario with her devoted husband Ken and their children in 1969; and moved to Southampton in 1993 where they lived together until Ken’s death in 2009. Beth was a teacher at Port Elgin Saugeen Central Public School for over 20 years and an ardent supporter of the community of Saugeen Shores.  A memorial service for Beth will be held at the Southampton United Church on July 22, 2017 at 12 noon with a reception to follow at The Walker House in Southampton. The family wishes to thank the staff at Elgin Lodge; Drs. Hodgson and Huff, and the nurses of Unit 6-1 at Owen Sound Hospital for their care and compassion.
