Passed away peacefully on June 27, 2019 at his home at Sauble Beach, Ontario, in his 75th year, surrounded by his wife and daughters. Committed husband of Glenda Marie (née Nicholl) for 51 years. Will be missed by his daughters Jennifer Ruth Wickham (Alan) of Coventry, England and Catherine Elizabeth Courtice of Carleton Place, as well as his grandchildren Melissa Stiller (née Ford) (Ben), Jackson Ford, Nathan Wickham, Cashmen Ford, Elliot Wickham and Maggie Ford. Brother-in-law of Daphne Rohmann of California, Gordon Nicholl (Sandra) of Kingston and Claudia Brews (late Peter) of Calgary. Special cousin of Penny Clark (née Courtice) of Moncton, New Brunswick. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Douglas William Courtice and Lenore Gertrude Courtice (née Brigham) of Brockville and his brother, John Radcliffe Courtice of Sudbury.

A graduate of the University of New Brunswick Law School (’70) and Osgoode Hall (’72), Paul practiced law for 36 years in Carleton Place and was the Town Solicitor. He was Chairman of the Upper Canada District School Board, served on the Board of Director of the Carleton Place and District Memorial Hospital and Lanark County Interval House, was member of the Carleton Place Civitan Club and long-standing parishioner and choir member of St. James Anglican Church. Paul was an accomplished Sommelier, a member of the National Capital Sommelier Guild and an avid lover of food and wine. He was a certified Lawn Bowling Level 2 Umpire and Competitive Coach in both Canada and the U.S.

Paul enjoyed his retirement beside the love of his life, Glenda, summering at Sauble Beach and wintering at Maple Leaf Golf and Country Club, Florida.

A Celebration of Paul’s Life will be held at St. Peter and St. Paul Anglican Church, 152 Metcalfe Street, Ottawa on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at 1 p.m.
