Monique Gisele Mawhinney

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Monique Gisele Mawhinney on September 17, 2019 at her residence. She was 79.

Monique was born in Destor, Quebec on January 1, 1940 to the late Henri and Yvonne Savard. Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, best known as Beme, was the heart of our Family. Her generous nature touched our lives in so many ways, and her legacy of love lives on in her family.

Monique will be deeply missed by her loving husband Ronald Mawhinney from Hanover. Dear mother of Brenda Goetz (Mike Widmeyer) of Hanover and Mark Mawhinney of Gorrie. Cherished and devoted grandma to Shannon, Megan (Adam Ryan), Brittany, Darren, Erica (Ben Boyce), Kyle (Sadie Stanley), Isaiah, Alicia, Noodin and Joey. Monique treasured her great-grandchildren Charlotte, Mason and Jase. She always enjoyed visiting her grand-dogs.

Monique will be sadly missed by her siblings Gabrielle Hilton and Gerard Savard, sister-in-law Alice Mawhinney. Predeceased by her parents, her son Daryl Mawhinney, her siblings Jean-Marc, Claude and Fernande, brother-in-law Ivan. She will be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews.

A private family graveside service will be held. Inurnment of ashes in McIntosh United Cemetery.

Memorial donations to the Foundations of Hanover & District Hospital, Grey Bruce Health Services Owen Sound or South Bruce Grey Health Centre Walkerton would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
