Robert “Bob” Dilworth
October 15, 1926 – November 16, 2019
Bob passed away peacefully in the arms of his loving wife Barbara of 67 years and his daughters by his side on November 16th at the age of 93 at Chapman House. Father of Janet (Les Cabell) & Christine (Brad Morrow) and grandfather of Jennifer (Patrick), Laura (Shane), Alysia, Jonathan (Sarah), Danielle (Chris), Steven (Taryn) and great grandfather of Archer. Uncle of Susan, Peter & Donald. Predeceased by his children Joan (1961), Jo-Anne (1972) & John (2018) and his brother Ralph (2016). Bob lived a very full life and was an avid golfer and curler for many years and enjoyed woodworking in his retirement. He had a long and rewarding career working at Bell Canada for 39 years included two years in Saudi Arabia. He was the plant manager in Owen Sound for most of his career and after he returned from Saudi he ended his career in London. When he retired in 1987 they returned to Owen Sound where he built a house at Francis Lake. Bob loved spending time with his children and grandchildren at the lake and he was well known for making people laugh with his funny sayings. The family will hold a celebration of Bob’s life in April and at that time will have an interment of both Bob’s and John’s ashes. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Chapman’s Residential Hospice of Owen Sound, or St. George’s Anglican Church would be greatly appreciated.
