With shocked and grievous hearts, we announce the sudden passing of 20+ year Grey County EMS veteran, activist, grandmother and mother of lost children, Robin Jane Anthes, who passed early morning of October, 27th 2019 due to complications of an enlarged heart.  Our mother was a sturdy, loving force of nature. A woman truly dedicated to her craft as a paramedic, a career in which she allotted her entire self, as well as every patient she treated. When she could no longer work due to work related PTSD and injuries to both shoulders, she bravely took to online forums and continued to blaze her old school style trail for the younger generations entering a profession she adored as much as her children. She was a megaphone and blasted her activism for all the world to hear, bold and completely unafraid.  She was at times a difficult person to understand, so set in her ways. However, we loved her dearly, and she will forever be missed. Be it a patient from fifteen years past, or the collective children she loved left to survive in her regal and rocky legacy; she was a loving soul who had touched many lives. Leaving all who met her better than when she found them. No matter what was going on she was always a steady shoulder for anyone who needed it with a heart of gold who will be sorely missed.  Robin is survived by her daughter, Hailey Wright and her granddaughter River Wright. Also survived by her brother Michael Anthes, his partner and her daughter; cousins across Southampton and Port Elgin areas, unfortunately too numerous to mention who will all deeply feel the loss of her presence in our lives; stray children who came to call her mother over the years Ivory Liefso, Jessica Ratcliffe, her husband Erik and their two children Karlee and Camron; Amy and Jeff Graham as well as their children Serenity and Caleb; Sarah Rose-Irwin, Katrina Whittaker and her husband Tyler, as well as countless friends she had made over the years; Stacey Hemstock and Michaela Walker just to name a few. To name every person she had touched would amass more paper than is present in the physical world.  The family wishes to deeply thank all of the people who have taken time out of their busy daily lives to connect with and check in with them. They are overwhelmed and touched by the outpouring of sympathy and support.  Any donations anyone would wish to make, please donate to a local charity service or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.  Online condolences may be made at www.greybrucecremation.com.
