Shirley Bell
Passed away at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Durham on Friday, February 21, 2020. Shirley Bell (née Brown) of Durham, at the age of 82. Beloved wife of the late Norman Bell. Loving mother of Kerr (Krista) Bell of Durham. Proud grandma of Nolan and Grayson. Dear sister of Ada Thompson of Simcoe, Muriel Brown of Toronto and Anna McAlister of Durham. Shirley will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews and extended family. Predeceased by her parents John T. and Margaret (Ritchie) Brown, brothers Lloyd Brown and Raymond Brown and sisters Doreen Onifrichuk and Jean Hutchinson.
Shirley was the Office Manager at the Durham Medical Clinic for 38 years. She was proud of being one of the original members of the Durham Girls Band. She loved her dog Willy, her rose garden and sitting on the porch in the summertime. Shirley’s greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family at Bell Creek.
Family will receive friends at Knox United Church, Durham on Wednesday, February 26th from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Service to follow at 12:30 p.m. Rev. Tessica Hackshaw officiating. Spring interment Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Durham. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Durham Hospital Foundation or the West Grey Minor Lacrosse Association would be appreciated.
