Carole Ann Aljoe (nee Braithwaite) age 73, of Hanover passed away peacefully at home on March 30, 2020.

She was born to Helen and the late George Braithwaite on October 18, 1946 in Clinton.  Carole Ann lived in Exeter before the family relocated back to Hanover.  She started her career working at the Royal Bank in Durham.  She married John in 1965 and resided at Lake Rosalind outside Hanover. John and Carole Ann opened their own business, Village Stoves in Hanover, and retired after 30 successful years.  Carole Ann was a long time devoted member of the St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Hanover where she shared her lifting voice as part of the church choir for many years and was very involved in many of the other church groups.  She had a passion for reading, music, and baking.  She also enjoyed volunteering at the Hanover hospital gift shop.  She loved watching her grandsons play hockey and was one of their biggest fans.  She will be fondly remembered for her genuine care and giving to others.

Carole Ann is survived by her loving husband of 55 years John Aljoe of Hanover and her mother Helen Braithwaite of Hanover.  Loved mother of Mike Aljoe (Kali) of Walkerton and Melissa Prues (Chris) of Hanover.  Proud grandma of Caden, Landon and Cohen Prues.  Dear sister of Judy Dickson (Bob) and Doug Braithwaite (Donna).  Sister-in-law to Pam Chapman and Gary Aljoe.  Predeceased by her father George Braithwaite, brothers-in-law Dennis and Dwight and sister-in-law Yvonne Brown.  Loved by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

At Carole Ann’s request cremation has taken place.  A memorial service at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church will take place at a later date.
