At Georgian Heights in Owen Sound, in his 85th year, Bill peacefully left this world “on to his next adventure”.  Beloved husband to Lorna (nee Gibbons) of Owen Sound for 41 years. Devoted father to Alison and Jeremy Vallee of Chesley and Michael Tweedy and Giovanna Canini of Toronto.  Adoring Papa to Bristol and Maelle Vallee. Missed by his four legged friends, Lacey, Johnny and Athena. Beloved brother to Lorna Brown of Richmond Hill and Glenda Vannatto of Owen Sound, and brother-in-law to Beverley and Wayne Hilliard of New Hamburg.  Also remembered by Joyce and Lou Primeaux, Ron and Sarah Gibbons, Lloyd and Linda Gibbons, Jerry and Frances Gibbons and Larry and Sheila Gibbons. Uncle Bill will be missed by his nieces and nephews, Julie Brown, Patti (Lui Boccia), Ted Brown, Donna (Martin Eberl), Lisa (Keith Fiering), Gina Vannatto, Jennifer (Michael Bate), Cathy –Lee (Bill Knapp) and Rick Parker as well as Brittany and Leah Hilliard. Remembered also by his many great and great –great nieces and nephews, his cousins and distant relatives he has come to know over the past several years. Predeceased by his parents Kathleen and Lawrence Tweedy, in laws Edgar and Annie Gibbons, his sister Carole Parker, brothers-in-law Ronald Brown and Alvin Vannatto, brother-in-law Randy Gibbons, niece Jennifer Gibbons and great niece Katie Joosten. Born in Owen Sound, he was an avid traveler, genealogist, animal and nature lover. Bill could talk to you for hours about the latest news, life science, philosophy or family history, always making you feel like the most important person in the room. He was always planning for his next great adventure, willing and ready to go anywhere. The family wishes to express our most profound gratitude and thanks to Dr. Cam Tweedie, and the nurses, PSWs and support staff at Georgian Heights, for the incredible care and kindness shown to Bill and his family over the past year. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy to Happy’s Place Senior Dog Rescue (www.happysplace.ca), Georgian Heights Residents Association or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service at Greenwood Cemetery in Owen Sound will occur at a later date.  Arrangements entrusted to Grey Bruce Cremation and Burial Services.

Condolences for William Tweedy
