Judy Deveau

After many months in hospital, it is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Judith May Deveau on May 30, 2020. She was in her seventy-fourth year.

A loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, cousin, and friend, Judy was a Texas Cake baker extraordinaire who always treated others with her sweets and greeted them with her infectious smile. “Everyone should have a friend like Judy” and “She was the best listener” are just some of the ways in which Judy will be remembered. While Judy mostly lived a quiet life (especially in her final years as few knew the extent of her pain in the end), we were always sure to hear her loud and clear when she’d yell “BINGO!”.

Predeceased by her parents Jimmy and Olive Fordham, her husband Lou Deveau, and her brother Lloyd Fordham, Judy’s tremendous heart will be greatly missed by her siblings Dawn Lee Atchison, Lynn Fordham and his wife Pam, and Kirk Fordham; her daughter Aretta Blue and son-in-law Marty Schlemmer, and the Deveau family; as well as her many cousins, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews whom she loved with all of her heart.

The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to the staff at Hampton Court and Saugeen Memorial Hospital for their incredible care and support. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be arranged at a later date. As an expression of sympathy memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, and messages of condolences are welcomed at www.greybrucecremation.com.
