Linda Young

Linda Louise Young (Hampton) was born on October 28,1978 at Owen Sound General and Marine Hospital to Brian and Debbie (Andrews) Hampton of Holland Centre.  Linda grew up in Holland Centre with her parents and older sister Anna and many pets.  She attended Holland Chatsworth Central School until grade 8, then went on to Grey Highlands Secondary School where she graduated.  Linda went on to live with some amazing friends in Toronto where she attended Humber College.  This is where she met her future love, her husband Mike. They were both working fast food joints and going to school. Linda graduated with honours from the Child and Youth Services program.  Linda and Mike remained in Toronto for a number of years where she started her career and they started a new life together.  Linda was devoted to her family and loved her 2 children Mackenzie (15) and Liam (8) to the moon and back.  She loved cooking, (except peeling potatoes), loved the outdoors, camping at the Hampton campground, and she had a heart so big she would do anything for anybody.  She was happy when Mike and her were able to move back to Grey County in 2005 where they could raise their 2 wonderful children together and give them the same upbringing Linda had.  Although life sometimes was not perfect, Linda met all challenges with strength, humour, tenacity and love.  Linda passed suddenly on March 7, 2021 in Owen Sound in her 43rd year.  She will be sadly missed by her husband Michael, her 2 children Mackenzie and Liam of Owen Sound, her parents Brian and Debbie (Andrews) Hampton of Holland Centre, her grandfather Robert Taylor of Holland Centre, her sister AnnaMarie (Hampton) and brother-in-law Shawn Alcock and nephew Blace of Hanover, mother-in-law Gail Walker of Hamilton, brother-in-law Duncan and sister-in-law Shelagh, nephew Xander and niece Gracie Young of Hamilton, brother-in-law Sean and sister-in-law Sandra and nephews Zachary and Austin Young of Hamilton.  She will be sadly missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.  In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be sent to the Canadian Mental Health Association (www.greybruce.cmha.ca)  or Wes for Youth (www.wesforyouthonline.ca).
