1935-2021

Geoffrey Charles Taylor passed away on July 4, 2021 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer in his 86th year.  He is survived by his sons Scott (Tammy) and Craig (Esther), grandchildren Blake, Katrina, Connor and Valerie, several nieces, nephews and U.K. cousins.  He is predeceased by his Scottish wife, Myra, his father and mother, Charlie and May Taylor and sister Valerie Petrisor. Geoff was born in Birkenhead, Cheshire, England and came to Dundas, Ontario with his parents and sister in 1953. He worked for a time at Westinghouse, Parking Products Incorporated then joined Fischer and Porter International as Canadian President until his retirement in 2001. He was a leader and knew how to manage people to get the best out of them. He was always fair and started a pension plan for his workers.  He enjoyed spending time with his family either at his lovely country home or at the cottage on Lake of Bays or in Lion’s Head latterly. Skiing, boating, golfing, BBQing and of course time in his Jacuzzi with rum and coke in hand were many of his pleasures.  More recently he spent time with his grandchildren. His many travels over the years included trips abroad to the UK, Europe and the U.S., especially Myrtle Beach and Florida where he spent his winters. His professional snooker table and draft beer pub set imported from England brought delight whenever he and his friends used them. He regaled in telling stories which often brought spontaneous laughter.  Among his many talents were renovating two homes and building three houses, wiring them to perfection. His remains have been cremated and there will be no visitation. He will be interred with his parents and sister in Woodstock. The family will have a private gathering in his honour. Celebration of life will take place at a safe later date. The family thanks all those who cared for our father in his final hours. The nurses at Owen Sound Hospital, Fergus Hospital, Bayshore Home Care Solutions and Dr. Aboo.  In lieu of flowers a donation to a charity of choice would be appreciated. Arrangements in care of Grey Bruce Cremation and Burial Services, www.greybrucecremation.com.
