June 24, 1934 – June 4, 2022

Teddy Noya of Owen Sound, passed away peacefully with family by her side at Summit Place, Owen Sound, on Saturday, June 4, 2022. Teddy was born in the Netherlands and emigrated to Canada with her husband, sons and mother in 1962. She embraced her new country, overcoming challenges, including learning English. Her life was characteristic of her loving, hospitable nature. Her loving kindness was given to all, people, and all creatures, dogs, cats, birds, you name it. If she found one in need, she would be the first one to offer feed. She was a great cook influenced by the Indonesian background of her husband. Her custom of cooking Dutch “oliebollen” for many, many New Years will always be remembered. She enjoyed singing in various choirs throughout her life, Kemble Church, the Mums and the Georgian Bay Choir. She will be missed dearly by all her family and friends, her sons Rudi, Robin (Margo) and Tom, her brother Otto Visser (Paulien), brother-in-law Hubert Vandestadt, sister-in-law Frouke Westra (Durk) of the Netherlands, nephew Donovan Vandestadt and niece Ingrid Van Horne (John). She was predeceased by her husband Dick (2004), her sister Siebea Vandestadt (2021) and her parents Jochem (1954) and Maria Visser (1996). Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Summit Place for their loving care of Teddy, during the last 4 years of her life, becoming her family during the difficult times of the pandemic! There will be a private gathering for family and friends. If so desired, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Grey-Bruce. Cremation has been arranged through Grey Bruce Cremation and Burial Services. For online condolences, visit www.greybrucecremation.com.
