Jacob (Jake) De Boer

Jacob (Jake) De Boer died April 30, 2023 in his 90th year. For over 66 years, he was the loving husband of Wilhelmina, who predeceased him by four months. He is the father of Joyce, Rose and Dorothy and a delighted grandfather to six grandkids and the great grandfather of two.  Jake and Wilhelmina immigrated to Canada from Holland in the late 1950’s and he began working in the retail sector with frequent family moves throughout southern Ontario for the first 10 years. In 1966 they moved to Owen Sound where he began his life as a teacher at the OSCVI.  While he travelled extensively throughout Canada with his family, he loved Owen Sound and the surrounding counties and photographed the landscapes extensively.  A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
