Edith May Bergen (Shier) 1919-2017

At Owen Sound on July 25th, 2017 in her 99th year. Loving mother of Marianne Margret (Bergen) Williams (Maldwyn), Douglas Stanley Bergen (deceased) (Brenda) and Judith May Bergen. Daughter of Margaret Dorothea (Taylor) and Wilfred Allan Shier. Sister to Ruth Hammill (Carmen), Bessie Kahel, Freda Thompson (Allen) and Mary Jo Shier (deceased as a child), and half sister to Allan Shier (Rhoda), Everett Shier and Margaret Hardman (Jim). Proud Grandmother to Ian Coates, Andrea Coates and Taylor Bergen, David Williams and Bronwen Gill, Melissa Thomson and Kristin Leith. Proud Great Grandmother to Shier and Mya Coates, Gabriella and Layla Coates, Liberty Bergen, Reid Thomson, Elliott Thomson and Cameron Leith, Bryn and Rhys Gill.  She was proud to have graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1944 and practiced her profession for over 40 years. She always identified herself with her two great loves, her children and her career. She raised her children as a sole support mother. We are so proud of her.
