It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and sister. Cheryl passed away peacefully surrounded by the love and respect of her family, on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at the Chapman House, Owen Sound.  Cherished wife of Brent Rothenberg, much loved mother of Michael (Meghan) and Erin (Clark).  Dear daughter of Delores Spielmacher and the late Albert Spielmacher. Rocking, fun filled and super dedicated Grandma and Momma to Blythe, Glenn, William and Cole.  Also survived by her brothers David (Rosanne) Roy and Mark Spielmacher,  sisters Colleen (Paul) Banville, Barb Geach, Sheila Bryan (Peter Wilson), Elaine (Howard) Fergusson and Kathy (Harold) Dyck. Predeceased by her brothers Keith and Tony Spielmacher, her sisters-in-law Julie Spielmacher and Janet Spielmacher and brothers–in-law Tony Bryan and David Geach.  She will be missed by her many nephews, nieces and family friends.  Cheryl was a graduate of Fanshawe College, and had a long and successful career in Early Childhood Education, where she was greatly admired by her colleagues. Cheryl was unfailingly optimistic and supportive.  At Cheryl’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place.  A celebration of life will be held on Cheryl’s birthday – July 22, 2018. Invitations will follow in the new year.  In lieu of flowers, please read a book and get on the floor and play with a pre-schooler or take time to stop and listen to a senior’s story of bygone days.  Donations to Chapman House Residential Hospice of Grey Bruce Inc or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be made at www.greybrucecremation.com.
