Susan Beryl Vamplew (Norman) passed away at the Meaford General Hospital after a brief illness on June 18, 2018.  Susan was the loving wife of the late Paul Vamplew and was predeceased by her daughter Heather.  She had many wonderful memories of Paul and Heather and enjoyed talking about the times they had together.  She was the daughter of William and Emily Norman and lived in England during the war. Her father died before Susan was born.  After the war Susan came to Canada with her mother Emily, she was 4 years old.  Her mother met a Canadian soldier named Virgil Reid, whom she later married.  Susan trained as a hairdresser and worked in Collingwood until she met and married Paul.  She enjoyed going with Paul to dances where he played in a band. She always enjoyed hearing him sing and play his guitar.  Susan and Paul lived in Collingwood for most of their life where Susan enjoyed helping Paul with the planting of a garden, which they shared with their neighbours.  After Paul became ill Susan moved to Golden Town apartments in Meaford.  Susan was able to live independently in her apartment with some help from family and friends.  Paul and Susan’s cousins (Currie, Vamplew and Reid) have many good memories of them. They will be missed.  Cremation has taken place and as per Susan’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral.  Online condolences may be made at www.greybrucecremation.com.
