John Curlew

Surrounded by the love of his family, at the Owen Sound Hospital, on Thursday morning, April 11, 2019 at the age of 83 years. John was raised in Toronto. In 1968 he moved his family to Owen Sound to continue his teaching career. During this time he obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto. John retired from teaching at West Hill in 1989. During retirement he continued to enjoy his cottage in Muskoka and spending his winters in Florida. John is survived by his loving wife Ann of 61 years, his son Stephen (Pauline) of Kitchener and their son Grant (Caitlyn), his son Robert (Andrea) of Muskoka and their sons Justin (Amanda), Joshua (Monica), Jonny (Taylor) and Jeff and his daughter Heather (Greg) and their daughters Brittany (Justin) and Nicole (Stuart). He is also survived by his great grandchildren Harper, Gage, Lauren, Harrison and Owen.  Friends and family are invited to celebrate John’s life at Stone Tree in Owen Sound on Saturday, May 11, 2019 from 1 – 4 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice.  Online condolences may be made at www.greybrucecremation.com.
