Douglas J. Earle
Passed away at the Saugeen Memorial Hospital, Saugeen Shores on Monday, July 15, 2019 at the age of 75 after a 18-year battle against prostate cancer. Beloved husband of the late Shirley Earle and father to Doug, Owen (Kim) and Eldon. Cherished grandfather of Brandon, Bronwen and Gareth. Survived by his sister Alice (Gordon) and sisters-in-law Beatrice (Harvey) and Betty. Born and raised in Saint John, New Brunswick, Doug made Port Elgin home for 50 years surrounded by many friends and volunteering with many organizations. He was a familiar face as Lion Doug on TV Bingo, along with 40 years of service to Scouts Canada. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 16th from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Port Elgin Legion, 630 Green Street. The Legion Tribute will start at 1 p.m. followed by the Lions Club Memorial Service. Refreshments will be available after the services.
