Douglas Gowanlock

Doug passed away at Grey Bruce Health Services in Southampton on December 24, 2020, at the age of 70 years.  Doug is lovingly survived by his wife Linda (Ferguson), son Andy and his wife Kelsey, and grandson Bodhi.  He will be missed by his brother Neil and his wife Liz, his sister Jean and her husband Brent Penhale, and sister-in-law Heather.  Predeceased by his brother Gord, and parents Kenneth and Janet (McDonald).  Dear son-in-law of Connie (Eaid) Ferguson and brother-in-law of Leslie Botte, Barry and his wife Angela, and Karen and her husband Tony Alberts.  Beloved uncle of Sara, Tiffany, Luke, Courtney, Nolan, Natasha, Stephanie, Patrick and Ted.  Doug lived all his life in Saugeen Township.  After graduating from the University of Waterloo, he worked at Gowanlock Farms dairy operation and the Federation of Agriculture before becoming a Co-operators Insurance Agent in Port Elgin.  After retirement, he continued to work at Beagle Run Nursery.  Other interests over the years were the Saugeen Township Planning Board, Saugeen Shores Town Council, the Port Elgin Rotary and he was an avid hunter.  Spring interment Sanctuary Park Cemetery, Port Elgin.  Memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated as an expression of sympathy.  Arrangements entrusted to Grey Bruce Cremation and Burial Services 519-371-8507.
